Photographs: 300 resolution or better (if you take a photo that is 72 resolution and make it 300, quality cannot be guaranteed but sometimes is fine)
- tif: good
- jpeg: sometimes good (but never good when downloaded from a web page)
- psd: good (photoshop document) These are all rastorized files.
Graphics (clipart, logo, etc.): Remember that you cannot take a tif, jpg or psd and make it one of the following files. The original file has to be created in CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator as a vector file.
- ai (illustrator)
- cdr (corel draw)
- eps
- wmf
Color:
- RGB images are not acceptable—all files should be CMYK.
- Call out Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors by number.
- Color matching cannot be guaranteed. If this is critical to your project, please request a “press check”. There is an extra charge for this service.
Fonts:
- Convert fonts to outlines/paths whenever possible.
- TrueType fonts only.
- Bold and Italic—ensure that your printer font has these styles built in before you use bold and/or italic from your program’s style menu.
- Send all font files associated with the fonts you are using (i.e., all screen and printer font files).
When in doubt, send a PDF along with your native files!
